The rounded, fluorescent leathery, golden leaf is encircled by a dramatic dark green border. Cupped and heavily puckered. It appears to be faster-growing than its famous parent H. 'Maui Buttercups.' Each small, 16" wide clump is topped in early summer with an 18" tall scape of light lavender flowers. Sun-resistant, slug-resistant, and fast-growing. This is truly a stunning and distinctive new hosta. Hosta of the Year in 2013.

love the varigation
I love this plant. Mine gets AM sun and has grown well. The contrast of green and gold is striking and I like that the gold center is so broad.

An unexpected feature in deep shade
The color and character of Rainforest Sunrise brighten up my deep shade garden. It looks as though there is a little light shining on it. I am also very pleased that leaves do not brown on the edges in my hot dry summer. I love this hosta! I got it from Hostas Direct last year and it is already a star in my garden!

Solid plant
I planted this in a darker spot of my shade garden and it really rises to the occasion of bringing some sunshine into the landscape.
