Details

Acclaimed as one of the world's most beautiful hosta varieties-the number one seller of all time! The center of H. 'Great Expectations' is a nice yellow in the spring, turning butter-colored later on, or white if it gets a lot of sun. The center will turn green if it's in a lot of shade. This hosta has irregular margins of blue and light green which contrast with the center color very well. The leaves are very puckered. Clusters of white flowers by mid-summer. The leaves have a perfect heart-shape and look great in bouquets. This is a specimen hosta - show it off! (Photos courtesy of Walters Gardens, Inc.)

Hosta garden 'must-have' Review by Amanda

This hosta has a very well-deserved name. Great color and texture that formed the foundation of my hosta garden in Virginia. Performs well in dappled shade and some short-lived late afternoon sun. The garden is on the north side of a small mountain so not much in the way of direct sunlight reaches it. This hosta continues to bring a great deal of pleasure every year. (Posted on March 12, 2016)

Nice coloring and variegation with heavy substance. Does well in heavier shade as well as moderate sun in western Michigan. This hosta is a very slow grower but certainly worth the wait. (Posted on June 2, 2015)
