Details

This sport of H. 'Captain Kirk' has creamy-white leaves with dark green margins. Gold streaks occur along the interior margins where the white and green overlap. H. 'Vulcan' has a vigorous growth rate for a white centered hosta. Pale lavender flowers bloom in mid to late summer. Very classy! (Photos courtesy of Walters Gardens, Inc.)

I was drawn to Vulcan because I live in Birmingham and we have a large statue of Vulcan, Vulcan holds up well to southern heat and drought without showing brown edges or wilting. It is a great performer and has grown very well. I have this one in a pot under a hickory tree and it lights up the area. (Posted on September 19, 2016)
