From the Netherlands comes this sport of the highly rated H. 'June'. It has no glaucous bloom and the scape looks different. Emerges with a bright yellow (becomes orangeish) leaf center surrounded by a thin blue-green border. There is no grayish, crystalline wax on the leaves so the finish is shiny. During the heat of summer the color begins to darken slowly until it becomes chartreuse by midsummer. It has a beautiful, hard-to-describe green not seen on many other hostas. June Fever can look different colors depending upon what light you grow it in! Possibly considered a tetraploid.
