Details
Strap-like dark green leaves, very stoloniferous; unique red-purple buds that do not open. This can be found growing wild in Korea, known as 'Tsubomi Giboshi,' or "Closed Flower Ball Hosta". The first plant collected in Korea and described as clausa was the one with closed flowers, hence the name. The normal wild form actually has open flowers, hence the name clausa var. normalis. Fully pod and pollen sterile and a triploid, but frequently found in Korean gardens.
