HostasDirect’s Mature Divisions plants will be offered on a separate website for the first time ever begining in mid-May of 2013. Next year we will open the site much earlier - likely mid-April if not earlier. This year, 2013, Minnesota has experienced the longest winter in recorded history with record snow and cold in April. The Twin Cities, where we are located, fortunately has not been hit by heavy snow as other parts of the state. Normally our snow has melted by the third or forth week of March and hostas are up in early April and ready for shipping in Mid-May.
The site you are currently using now only offers our Starter and Advanced Starter maturity plants. Learn more about the three maturities of plants we sell.
Signup for our e-newsletter so we can notify you when our new Mature Division site is online. Our Mature Division webiste will offer about 200 hosta varieties, including some that are only available as Mature Diviisions.
This change is best for our customers. We will now be able to provide:
No delays in shipping Starter (TC) and Advanced Starter maturities that may have been previously combined in the same order with Mature Divisions.
Faster and more predictable delivery times of all plant maturities.
Our delivery schedules for 2013 has been revised due to record-breaking cold and snowy March and April weather:
May shipping (starting on May 9th on a first ordered, first shipped basis):
Fourth week of May to June shipping (on a first ordered, first shipped basis - weather dependent):
Note: research has shown that longer winter dormancy like we have in Minnesota is best for producing big, healthy hostas.
