Petiole Color

The leaf stock can add beauty to the hosta and has become a very important hybridizing, marketing and garden characteristic. There are so many different petiole colors in our drop down menus we will not write about the options here. The colors include many different patterns and color combinations combining: Blue, Brown, Chartreuse, Fuchsia, Waxy, Gold, Gray, Green, Lavender, Maroon, Pink, Plumb, Streaked, Striped, White, and Yellow. Some hostas have interesting petiole colors as their main distinction while other plants have the petiole color add to their overall appeal.
