Our secure online payment form accepts the following major Credit Cards along with PayPal, money orders, and checks*
(*please allow 7-10 days while we wait for your check to clear before shipping) your order

At our Minnesota retail site, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and cash. No checks please!

 

Sales Tax:

HostasDirect, Inc. is located in Roseville, MN. Therefore, Minnesota residents are charged 7.125% sales tax on the website. There is no sales tax outside of MN.

 

Shipping Information

We ship USPS Priority Mail. Studies show that 94% of Priority Mail is received in two days. Orders are shipped ASAP unless you request a later ship date or we are waiting for backordered inventory to arrive.

Average Spring shipping dates:

  • Orders not containing any plants will ship as soon as possible
  • Orders containing ONLY Starter Hostas (TC) or Advanced Starters generally begin shipping in the end of April or beginning of May
  • Orders containing Mature Divisions generally don't begin shipping until the 1st week in June due to our MN winters (our average last frost is in mid-May)
  • We ship Monday thru Wednesday to ensure the hostas do not sit over the weekend during transit

How we Ship:

  • We ship Starter Hostas (TC) in the plastic cell trays in which they were grown, and fit snugly in our cardboard boxes. Name tags are included with each hosta. We fill the remaining space in the box with packing peanuts.
  • For Advanced Starters and Mature Divisions, we wrap the "bare root" hostas in newspaper, soak the bundle in water, add a name tag, rubber band the bundle, and put it in a plastic bag. (See How We Dig Divisions)

When Your Hosta Arrives:

  • Hostas are very hardy. However, we recommend that you plant your order as soon as possible. Please see our planting information.

 

Shipping & Packaging Rates

We ship USPS Priority Mail. Plants are shipped on a first come first served basis, paid orders only. Shipping & packaging rates are for any quantity!

Orders containing only Starter Hostas (TC):

  • $9.95 is the flat cost anywhere in the U.S. This is broken into a $5.95 shipping charge and a $4 packaging charge.

If your order contains any Advanced Starters:

  • $5.95 is added as an Advanced Starter surcharge. This helps compensate for the extra time it takes to carefully package these hostas so they arrive in good condition.

If your order contains any Mature Divisions:

  • $5.95 is added as a Mature Division surcharge. This helps compensate for the extra time and labor required to dig up and divide the hostas.

 

Returns & Refunds

We guarantee our plants to be in good condition and properly named and labeled to the best of our ability. All claims regarding shortages, damaged plants, etc. must be made within 7 days of receipt of shipment. We are not responsible for overwintering losses, lack of water, over-fertilizing, or plants lost due to causes beyond our control. We are unable to assume any warranty as to plant productivity or life after transplanting. Liability is limited to the cost of the plants. All returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Return plants with the original labels and we will refund the cost of the plants or provide replacements. Prices and inventory are subject to change.
