Payment Methods

Our secure online payment form accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, PayPal, money orders, and checks*

At our Minnesota retail site, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and cash. No checks please!

Sales Tax:

Minnesota residents are charged 7.125% sales tax. Non-Minnesota residents are not charged sales tax.

Shipping Information

We ship USPS Priority Mail. Studies show that 94% of Priority Mail is received in two days. Orders are shipped ASAP unless you request a later ship date or we are waiting for backordered inventory to arrive.

Average Spring shipping dates:

  • Orders not containing any plants will ship as soon as possible
  • Orders containing ONLY Starter Hostas (TC) or Advanced Starters generally begin shipping in the end of April or beginning of May
  • Orders containing Mature Divisions generally don't begin shipping until the last week of May or the 1st week in June due to our MN winters.
  • We ship Monday thru Wednesday to ensure the hostas do not sit over the weekend during transit

How we Ship:

  • We ship Starter Hostas (TC) in the plastic cell trays in which they were grown, which fit snugly in our cardboard boxes. Name tags are included with each hosta. We fill the remaining space in the box with packing peanuts.
  • For Advanced Starters and Mature Divisions, we wrap the hostas in newspaper, soak in water, add a name tag, secure with a rubber band, and put it in a plastic bag. (See How We Dig Divisions)

When Your Hosta Arrives:

  • Though hostas are very hardy, we recommend that you plant your order as soon as possible. Be sure to keep them well-watered before and after you've planted. See our planting instructions, which are also included with every order.

Shipping & Packaging Rates

We ship USPS Priority Mail. Plants are shipped on a first come first served basis, paid orders only. Shipping is calculated dynamically based on the weight of the order and shipping destination.

Returns & Refunds

We guarantee our plants to be in good condition and properly named and labeled. All claims regarding shortages, damaged plants, etc. must be made within 7 days of receipt of shipment. We are not responsible for any losses after 7 days including due to overwintering, lack of water, over-fertilizing, or other causes beyond our control. We are unable to assume any warranty as to plant productivity or life after transplanting. Liability is limited to the cost of the plants. All returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee. Return plants with the original labels and we will refund the cost of the plants or provide replacements. Prices and inventory are subject to change.
